-----Your Success is Our Business-----

The SBDC is a non-profit, professional agency jointly funded and sponsored by Navarro College and the U.S. Small Business Administration. It is headquartered in the Corsicana/Navarro County Chamber of Commerce located at 120 N. 12th St. You are invited to visit the office to seek assistance in management, personnel matters, advertising/marketing, inventory control, quality control, budget forecasting, bidding on government contracts, employee training and assessment, importing/exporting, and businesses owned by women and minorities.

Counseling - SBDC will provide free individual counseling with experienced, knowledgeable professionals. We will counsel with you at the SBDC office or at your place of business in such areas as: new business start-up, marketing research and market identification, cash flow analysis, production and inventory control, statistical process control, securing government contracts, and general management for small businesses engaged in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, or service delivery.

SBDC offers low-cost workshops, conferences, seminars, and courses geared to the needs of your business. Working with professionals in business, trade associations, and colleges and universities, SBDC provides expert instruction on specific and varied general business topics. Courses range from advanced seminars for the experienced small business owner/operator to introductory courses for those planning to start a new business.

Referral Services - Another of the SBDC staff's important functions is to maintain a resource list of qualified, reliable and experienced professionals who can be called upon as paid consultants should the need arise for longer term, more intensive, and more highly-specialized assistance (training in use of a specific computer software package, for example).

One of our more popular opportunities is to provide assistance to new and existing businesses who are seeking financial assistance through the SBA guaranteed loan programs This involves leadership in creating a business plan and loan application that meet agency standards so that the local banks are encouraged to make marginal loans under the protective umbrella of the SBA.
